Call for Abstracts

The Council of Children’s Nurses (Inc) invite you to submit an abstract for the Winds of Change Conference being held in Sydney on March 24-25th, 2011.  We invite you to participate in debates, discussions and celebrate children’s nursing.  Abstract submissions will close on September 15th, 2010.  All abstracts will be blind peer reviewed.

The theme for the conference is “Winds of Change” with a program to address the evolving changes happening locally and globally in the provision of health services for children.  Change and its challenges will be a major element of our discussions during this conference.  The keynote speaker is Dr Bernie Carter, Professor of Children’s Nursing (University of Central Lancashire – UK) and Editor of the Journal of Child Health Care.

The themes for the conference are:

•    Innovation in practice
•    Leadership in Nursing
•    Models of Care
•    Early Intervention
•    Consumer Participation
•    Clinical Case Presentations

This decade is destined to be one of many changes, some of which we have the opportunity to participate in and to challenge.  Changes in staff/patient ratios, staffing mix and models of care all bring their own unique set of challenges for nurses caring for children and their families.
